why cosmo design

Cosmo Design is a creative studio based in Los Angeles, working at the intersection of design, culture, and place across Japan and the United States. The studio specializes in brand systems, digital experiences, and public-facing visual storytelling for organizations navigating cross-cultural contexts.

Cosmo Design collaborates with public institutions, global brands, and cultural businesses, with selected work for the City of Los Angeles, Mitsubishi, BASI Pilates Japan, and AFURI Ramen LA. The studio’s approach emphasizes clarity, cultural fluency, and thoughtful design systems that serve real communities and audiences.

Cosmo Design is led by designer and creative director Emily Niemann and works with a trusted network of collaborators to support projects of varying scale while maintaining a focused, studio-led process.
